PAWS Fundraising: EARTHLINGS Showing at Trinoma, November 14

Posted by siyerwin on Monday, November 09, 2009 at 9:08 PM

Are you free this Saturday morning?

PAWS is having a film showing of Earthlings at the Trinoma Cinema 4, November 14, 2009 at 10:30 AM.

Earthlings is one of my all-time favorite documentaries and watching it actually changed my life and opened my eyes to the way we coexist with nature and how severely lopsided the relationship is. I urge you to go and watch it along with friends (Note: PG-13).

Ticket cost is just P100 (cheapest in town) which you can reserve by making a deposit to the PAWS BPI Account # 3943-0086-11 (Acct. name: The Philippine Animal Welfare Society). Inform PAWS of your deposit by emailing pawsevents@yahoo.com the following information: Date, BPI Branch, Time of deposit (which you can get from the validated deposit slip). PAWS will reserve you the seats and all you need to do is bring the validated deposit slip to the venue.

This is a fundraising event so your support will be much appreciated and will benefit the shelter animals.

Please watch the film and help us teach others that there is indeed a connection.

Below is the official invite from PAWS:

“EARTHLINGS” Philippine Premiere

The Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) in cooperation with Trinoma invites you to the Philippine screening of “EARTHLINGS” at the Trinoma Cinema on November 14 (SAT), 10:30am.

“EARTHLINGS” is the award-winning documentary about the suffering of animals for food, fashion, entertainment and medical research. It is narrated by Academy Award nominee Joaquin Phoenix and features music by platinum-selling recording artist, Moby.

Initially ignored by distributors, today, “Earthlings” is considered the definitive animal rights film by organizations around the world.

The movie has been rated PG-13 by the MTRCB due to graphic scenes of animal cruelty.

Tickets are priced at P100 only. Seats are limited so please email your ticket reservations and contact information to pawsevents@yahoo. com or call Tel. No. 9242902 and look for Paolo.

Tickets from the original Sept. 27 screening will be honored at the gate.

I look forward to watching this film, Earthlings. With modern age, we tend to disregard the well being of the animals that coexist with us.I hope this film will teach the fundamentals of respecting the nature around us.Protecting the environment is truly important. We can start with recycling, building LEED certified building and even getting involed in the community projects. Every little thing counts.

We could not agree more. The Earthlings documentary should be on top of the list of every environmentalist, animal rights activist and pet lover. :o) Not only is it award-winning, it is considered as the definitive animal rights film by organizations around the world. It's the "Bible" of animal lovers!

Please do not leave your email or contact numbers in the comments. Email me directly at sherwin @ mefindhome.org if you have concerns or questions. This blog is increasingly attracting breeders/pet sellers trying to advertise their business through the comments and I don't want that. The blog seems to also be becoming a bulletin board of sorts for people who wish to abandon their pets. Blogger.com allows no way to edit your comments so there I have no other option but to delete comments that I deem inappropriate in this regard. I apologize for the inconvenience. Again, if you have any questions/concerns, better to email me at sherwin @ mefindhome.org than to comment here. Thank you very much!
