Meek Mario

Posted by siyerwin on Monday, April 02, 2007 at 10:15 PM

Meet Mario. A 6 year old (mixed) native dog with a long-ish fur coat of black, white and orange. Mario is one of the longest-staying dogs at PARC. He's been there for 3 years and is now being prioritized for adoption.

Liza U. of the PAWS adoption team wrote:

"Mario is a beautiful, beautiful dog, shy yet sweet, and loves to takes walks. If you love to exercise (walk/jog), then this is the dog for you. He is very easy to handle on leash and is the happiest when out for a walk. He has been at the PAWS shelter for 3 years already, and is stil waiting to meet his forever family.

When people come to our shelter to adopt, almost all are looking for puppies or kittens. I hope people would notice the older animals like Mario who are still waiting, and waiting, and waiting, for their forever families."

Mario seems to have lost confidence and has probably forgotten how beautiful and majestic he looks. Years of homelessness will do that to any dog.

Please help end Mario's homelessness and give him back the joy and security of having a loving home. To all dog-lovers out there, please forward this post to everyone you think who might be able to help. Please, please, please don't allow Mario to live his entire life in a shelter.

If you want to learn more, please call up PARC at (02) 475-1688 and look for Dr. Jeff, our shelter manager. He'll be glad to talk to you about Mario.

Thank you very much for your time.

Please do not leave your email or contact numbers in the comments. Email me directly at sherwin @ if you have concerns or questions. This blog is increasingly attracting breeders/pet sellers trying to advertise their business through the comments and I don't want that. The blog seems to also be becoming a bulletin board of sorts for people who wish to abandon their pets. allows no way to edit your comments so there I have no other option but to delete comments that I deem inappropriate in this regard. I apologize for the inconvenience. Again, if you have any questions/concerns, better to email me at sherwin @ than to comment here. Thank you very much!
