Make adoption your first option. There are more homeless animals out there than I can show here. Please give the shelter a visit and take one home.

For more information on the homeless, please get in touch with PAWS through the following:

  3. By siyerwin on Nov 15, 2006, 10:18:00 PM

i'm sorry for your loss. most of the dogs at PARC are native dogs, mongrels, and some mixed. but i will still urge you to visit the shelter and see them for yourself. you never know what treasure you might find...

Hi. I'm CHRISTINE T. GUERRERO. My dog was KILLED last Monday. Why killed?! Because I found her along EDSA, DEAD. Walang-awa siyang sinagasaan! She's a Jap. Spitz. As I am typing this message, her passing away still hurts me very badly. I wish you could help me give JUSTICE to my dog. Please, I badly need your help.

  5. By siyerwin on Feb 16, 2007, 8:25:00 AM

Hello, Christine. I'm really sorry to hear about your dog. If I may ask though. How did he find his way to EDSA?

I'm afraid your options are kind of limited. But if you got the plate number the car, we could refer you to one of PAWS' volunteer lawyers for consultation.

Remember though that it's the responsibility of the pet owners/guardians to protect their wards from these kind of things. These defenseless little things just don't know that they are not supposed to go strolling across busy boulevards such as EDSA.

Thanks for your reply. But, it still deeply hurts me as I recall the incident. If u want to know... Last Sunday, I attended an event in the school of my daughter together w/my husband. My mom was the only one left in the house. If u must know, she accidentally left the gate open, not knowing that our dog got out na. We did search for her when we found out. I do not know how she got to edsa. But I do not know the plate # or what kind of vehicle hit her. I found her lifeless body along edsa on my way to school on Monday morning. Don't we have any laws pertaining to such cases similar to this one. Her death was very tragic!!! I want to give JUSTICE to my dog! Please, I need your help.

I can imagine how such an accident might hurt. But I would suggest that you try not to think about your dog's sudden passing anymore. I'm sure he knew how much loved he is. He's just moved on to a place where he can play forever in green pastures and with other dog (and cat) friends that went ahead of him. He's happier now. He's free from pain, hunger and sadness.

There are other people out there who understands what you're going through. Go to http://www.petloss.com and learn about the rainbow bridge...

Hi & G'evening. Its been about a week now since I lost my beloved dog. Still trying very hard to cope with the terrible loss. I'd like you to know that someone gave me a new pup, its an ASKAL though. Her name is POPSICLE. Somehow, her presence helps me to cope with the loss. She is a very good pup & very obedient, too. Thanks for the time. It really was a BIG HELP.

  9. By Chrissie on Feb 19, 2007, 11:32:00 PM

Hi again. Do you happen to know any good veterinarian doctor, but affordable for my new pup? I just live in Quezon City. Thanks.

  10. By Anonymous on Mar 28, 2007, 3:28:00 PM

Hola, Im James I wanted to be a veterinarian since i was a kid but i cant imagine myself disecting animals, so i didnt pursue it. But in my own little way i want to help those poor and neglected animals, i want to be a part/volunteer of PAWS and probably adopt a pet('coz i need to consult my parents first). The only problem is, i dont know how to go to your place, i dont know how to comute. (starting from Sm north or Espana UST)

    Help.. :)

    Gracias y Buena Suerte :)

Hi this is in reference to Christine & the anonymous pitbull owner, I suggest you adopt a dog at PARC. They are native dogs "askal" to laymen but they are the same compared to pure bred dogs in terms of giving love, comfort & company. They are loyal too. Take it from me as I have adopted 2 very loving dogs from PARC last Nov 2006. They are now here in Davao. They have given me & my Papa added happiness together with our other dogs....Joy of Davao

when animals die, they die, they don't go to other place. they had stopped living. only humans can go to somewhere else after earthly death coz they have soul and spirit. animals dont have soul. im sorry to say this but its the truth. im also a dog lover but i know that our pets' life lasts here on earth and nothing more.

  13. By siyerwin on Apr 28, 2007, 12:32:00 AM

^it takes a special kind of people to look into the eyes of an animal and see something human in them.

fact is, truths are bounded by the unique frame of reference for each individual. everything is relative, my friend. so me saying you're absolutely wrong with your absolute claim to the truth will be a futile exercise.

dogs have spirits. call your dog and ask him. ;-) i know the dog we had when i was a child has stayed in my heart all this time. that's more than enough proof for me.

    thanks for posting!

Hi! I posted a picture of Mario on my blog, along with the number of PAWS and their website address. I hope you don't mind.

  16. By siyerwin on May 4, 2007, 7:29:00 AM

I've no problem with that, Iris. In fact, my intention was to have these pics shown around. Gives these animals a higher chance of getting noticed.

    Thanks and see you around!

    Hi guys:
Christine, I think you really will have to let go because you don't have any leads, and in this country where even some people die anonymously, there may not be justice for your dog. I guess you'l just have to tell people at home to be more responsible, because that's what the bottom line is. I lost a dog some four years ago, and I still think of her everyday, even when I have a new dog to take care of. Which brings me to my suggestion -- please try to turn the sadness and anger into an open heart, because we should always have room in our lives for another pet to come in and show us what love is all about.
As for dogs having no souls, well -- I think they do, too. God just calls a dog back early sometimes when he's sick and tired of people, and wants to remember that real love really does exist in one of his creatures.
    Hi, Sherwin!:)

Im the pitbull(halfbreed)owner.Recently, Andoy(my askal dog)died. He looks like Bantay, the one that I saw on TV.Same as before, I cried a lot & think of him & Bebong everyday. My mom said that its impossible for me & my husband to have 2 dogs at a time. When Bebong died,my husband bought me a pomspitz named Mardy after 1 1/2 months when Bebong passed away. And Andoy our very lovable ,understanding & very kind dog Ive ever had, bcoz Bebong is a a spoiled dog, a very jealous dog,but very smart too & loving.Lets go back to Andoy. Before he died,Andoy wait for my husband to give him a teaspoon of water w/sugar in our house, only seconds count we loss him.The pain in my heart I cant imagine how many! But still im taking the risk to take care of another dog named Mardy.

Hi! my son is the owner of a Lab ( with papers)and he's leaving for a job abroad and we are looking for a petlover to adopt him..Free with a big dog cage.

  21. By siyerwin on May 17, 2007, 5:18:00 PM

Mardy, I'm sorry to hear about your dogs Bebong and Andoy passing away. I'm sure they lived a very happy life with a loving human companion in you. Mardy (the dog) is a very lucky doggy to have you. Thank you for visiting. Have you joined our mailing list at whatsuppaws??

To the poster looking to rehome a labrador, i urge you to try and look for possible adopters among your friends and family. I'm sure someone will take him in. Leaving him at the shelter will be tough on him. I'm willing to help you but I would prefer that you have the dog spayed/neutered first. you may contact me at find.home [at] yahoo.co.uk for more info regarding this.

Hi siyerwin! This is Rein... I have been thinking of volunteering at PAWS but i still don't know my schedule at school.. Im also wondering if you could widen my vision about how to be a volunteer at PAWS.. and my friend wanted to have a puppy and I referred him here to just adopt one.. but his mom doesn't want a large breed.. are there small dogs offered for adoption?? Thanks!

  23. By siyerwin on Jun 4, 2007, 2:00:00 PM

Rein, as a volunteer you'll have a lot of options on what you can do for PAWS. It depends on what stock skills you may have or your interests. I like being near animals so i signed up for the animal care work at the animal shelter. Some volunteers sign up for humane education where we teach kids about animal welfare issues. others help in fundraising activities. others lend their talents by providing artistic skills in making flyers, posters and the likes. there are volunteers who do volunteer work online! the possibilities are endless! i encourage you to attend one of the PAWS volunteer orientation to learn more about what you could do as a volunteer. i will post the schedule for the next one in this blog.

all dogs at the shelter are of the native variety. mid-sized. not too big, not small.

thanks for dropping by and if you have more questions please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Hello Everyone! I'm willing to adopt any pets but I much preferred dogs because I know how to take care of it. I have 4 poodles but suddenly 3 of them were died because of heart problem & I guess because of their ages, that's why they can't survive. Their ages are 7-9years old. One poodle were left and I know she needs companion. Also we have a personal Veterinarian. Hey guys I want to adopt dogs you can reach me @09178290703. I'll promise to take care of your dogs..Thanks.

  33. By siyerwin on Oct 27, 2007, 6:39:00 PM

aimee, visiting the shelter is part of the adoption procedure. you will need to meet the animals while an adoption counselor assesses if your match with any particular dog is good or not. mababait po ang mga aso at pusa na pinapaampon sa shelter! we hope to see you there one of these days! thanks!

To the person that said that dogs have no souls HOW YOU REALLY KNOW THAT! what makes you so sure that dogs have no souls, I am sorry but God created dogs to be man's best friend, he made them loyal and able to understand humans like no other animal on earth. I respect that you dont belive that dogs have souls but that doesnt give you the right to asure it, only when we die we will know, mean while I rather think they do, it is a happy thought.

hi im roxy. my doggie dogg baby Bench just died yesterday, i really dont know the reason why.. its so sudden.. last nov. 29 kalaro ko pa sya and then nung kinagabihan nagsimula syang umihi ng dugo... i plan to take him to a vet but its too late.. the following day (nov. 30, 07)as we plan to take him to a vet. sabi ng dad ko hindi na daw sya magagamot.. mukhang malala na daw yung sakit ni bench (mongrel) then after 2 hours lang wala na sya... im really aching right now cause i really love bench... he's been my bestfriend and para hindi ko na sya mamiss i plan to buy a new one... but then i saw this website.. and i thought maybe i should adopt instead of buying a new one... and im actually looking for a mongrel just like my bench.. and gusto ko po sana ung kamukha ni bench and if possible yung puppy pa lang.. maybe 2 or 3 months.. meron po ba?? you may see his picture (bench) on my friendster account.. primary photo ko po sya.. gusto ko po kasi talaga yung kamukha ni bench...

    here's the site:
    http://www.friendster.com/pinupdoll

im hoping na meron akong ma-aadopt na puppy.. and i would call him "Bench"

    you can also email me

hi, roxy. i'm so sorry to about your dog Bench. I know what you're going through. Looks like he may have a had a renal failure of some sort...

If you want to adopt, the best thing you should do right now is go to the shelter. Where do you live ba?

One advice I can give you though is don't base your upcoming adoption decision on whether the dog looks like Bench. Instead, base it on the chemistry you have with the dog upon meeting him. Dogs are individual beings and are quite different from each other in terms of temperament.

Also, try bringing your dog to the vet at least once a year. A blood test would be able to catch a looming health problem early on, when treatment can do a lot of good and give the animal a better chance at recovery.

Please call the animal shelter (PARC) at 475-1688 and tell them about your intention. They'll be happy to help you out.

Good luck and thank you very much. You're a very good pet owner and I'm very sure Bench felt loved.

  39. By Roxy on Dec 1, 2007, 10:40:00 PM

good eve poh.. im from mandaluyong poh but i dont know how to go to the shelter... marami din poh ba mongrel puppies sa shelter? coz' i find mongrel such a loving dog eh'

  40. By siyerwin on Dec 4, 2007, 9:45:00 AM

roxy, madali lang mahanap yun PARC. you can find the map here: http://mefindhome.blogspot.com/2006/06/parc.html

pag di mo pa rin kaya, email me at find.home [at] yahoo.co.uk and i will give you detail instructions. you can get there with two train rides and some walking.

there are usually puppies at PARC but there are also times that there are none as they are usually the first ones to get adopted. I really urge you to visit or at least call them up first (475-1688) so pede mo na matanong about the puppies or ask for directions on how to get there.

i hope that helps. thanks and sorry sa late reply!

My beagle puppy died last year before New Year( Dec. 30). The vet told us that he's got hepatitis but it's impossible because my puppy has completed his vaccine, so I thought that he has ingested a firecracker for children used to play firecrackers outside our gate. Maybe because of my dog's curiosity and because he loves to chew things, he has eaten one. He was a birthday gift for me and he's only 10 months when he died. I really cried hard everyday. He's the most energetic dog I had and because of that he died. Until now, when I'm alone and idle I can't help thinking about him and thinking with him made me think about my past dogs too.
Beagle used to be my favorite dog, so if ever you have one please remind me asap. I want to have a beagle similar to mine:(
