I was utterly amazed when Burnz came to PARC to see Jeff, the office cat, for the first time. I had received an email from him expressing his interest in our PARC celebrity cat. He had found out about Jeff through a friend who, mayhap, found out about Jeff through someone else or through the blog. He had just lost his cat, whom he adored dearly (he even described her in detail and told me I should have met her before she ran away with her stray cat boyfriend), a few months prior. Jeff's temperament piqued his curiosity and he asked a few more details about him, which I promptly gave. After that I didn't hear from him again. Until about three saturdays ago when he came knocking on PARC's doors asking about Jeff!

Jeff, as expected, did his thing when Burnz called on him for the first time. He acted as if he had known Burnz for years but had simply lost touch and now just picked up where they had left off. Burnz signed the adoption form in posthaste, like he was signing the legal papers to a gargantuan trust fund, while Jeff "claimed" him as his newest human companion and confidant with his chatty meows and customary body rub.

Burnz, however, had to leave Jeff behind that saturday as he was bound for a pre-planned destination where he can't bring a furry friend. He just wanted to meet Jeff. He promised to come back for him. Last saturday, in the middle of a deluge of rain and thunder, he made good his promise. Jeff went home.

Jeff, the office cat, leaving the PARC office, his refuge for many of his cat years. A guy, getting soaked in the middle of the heavy rain, carrying Jeff inside a blanket, walking away to take his precious find, homeward bound. That's some image right there that will stay in my head for quite some time.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to tell their friends about the homeless animals on this site. We have actually found a number of them who are willing take care of some of our precious finds. Imagine it--- we just sat in front of our computers and we were able to find people who are willing to take homeless animals in. We now have proof: blogging can save lives! :) Let's keep doing it! :)

There are a lot of animals up for adoption. Please call (02)475-1688 and adopt one.

Or email me at find.home @ yahoo.co.uk. I'd love to hear from you.

It always warms my heart to know that these animals not only found homes but human friends/companions as well. It looks like a lasting relationship is in the works there :o)

I'm so happy for Jeff! and I'm glad to hear that there are still people willing to adopt despite the demand for "purebred" animals and kittens. God bless that dude!!! I sure do hope and pray that more of these animals are adopted soon! (I might even get a doggie myself!) *hint hint* :) and I'm sure without your help, this couldn't have been possible. So I congratulate you for doing a great job. :)

    God bless you!

PS do you still remember me? I'm Nikachu. :)

Oh, so that's why I didn't see Jeff anymore when I went there yesterday for the orientation...

I did find quite a few other friendly cats. =)

Hehehe. Was actually amazed at the relative ease I had travelling alone and not getting lost at all.

I will probably adopt one when I go back there. PARC is a little too far for an unplanned trip. Hehe.

PS. Just discovered I can actually use my other blog address instead of just being anonymous. Hehe. Very useful.

Please do not leave your email or contact numbers in the comments. Email me directly at sherwin @ mefindhome.org if you have concerns or questions. This blog is increasingly attracting breeders/pet sellers trying to advertise their business through the comments and I don't want that. The blog seems to also be becoming a bulletin board of sorts for people who wish to abandon their pets. Blogger.com allows no way to edit your comments so there I have no other option but to delete comments that I deem inappropriate in this regard. I apologize for the inconvenience. Again, if you have any questions/concerns, better to email me at sherwin @ mefindhome.org than to comment here. Thank you very much!
